Lessons on the River: Habitat Assessment & Action
with Harpeth Conservancy & Tennessee Environmental Council
Saturday, May 20 | 10am-noon
West Park on Richland Creek
Harpeth Conservancy's Lessons on the River workshops are all-ages, hands-on opportunities to learn about the issues impacting our waterways and gain skills to engage our mission to protect clean water! On May 20th, we'll learn how to assess the health of a stream habitat (from identifying vegetation, water quality, and how pollution impacts our waterways) and determine the next steps for stewarding our threatened waterways. We'll also remove trash and debris as we walk along the creek. Participants should wear clothes and shoes they don't mind getting wet and are encouraged to bring water in a refillable bottle. This is a great opportunity to learn about the issues impacting water quality and wildlife habitat at Richland Creek and gain new skills to empower community-based, responsible stewardship of the Richland Creek Watershed.
